Referee Training 8/25

posted Aug 14, 2018, 9:54 AM by Philip Roth
Region 390 will offer the in-person part of the two-part online referee training on Saturday, August 25, 2018.  We will start promptly at 8:30am at First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge.  (Address is 1051 Oak Ridge Turnpike, on corner of the turnpike and Lafayette St.)  We expect to be finished by 1:00pm.  Training will involve on-field work (wear appropriate clothes/shoes), classroom work, and the Regional Referee Exam.

The lead instructor for the course is Philip Roth (email: philip.roth@aysoregion390.org).  The training is open to adults and youth at least 12 years old. You *must* do three things before attending this course:

1. Complete the online "Regional Referee Training" course at http://aysou.org.  If you are a volunteer from Oak Ridge, contact the lead instructor to get a voucher code to pay for the course.  If you are not from Oak Ridge, contact your region's Referee Admin or Regional Commissioner to see how they want you to handle the cost of the online course.
2. Enroll in the in-person field training called "Regional Referee Online Companion Course" session scheduled for 8/25/2018 in Location "5/G/0390 Oak Ridge TN."
3. Email the lead instructor to inform him of your plan to attend the in-person training, so that I can inform you if the time/location changes, or if the course is cancelled due to lack of enrollment.

The training will be cancelled if there are fewer than three enrolled in the course (or that have emailed the instructor) by 5pm on Thursday, 8/23.  Watch www.aysoregion390.org for notification of cancellation.

If you are a volunteer for a region other than Region 390 (Oak Ridge), please bring $10 to defray the cost of training materials.

Please direct questions about this training to the lead instructor at the email address above.  See http://www.aysoregion390.org/volunteer/referee-training for more detailed information about how to register for this course.
