Like the idea of always being right?  Want to help kids play soccer?  Or just want to know more about the game to be a better coach or "soccer parent"?  Becoming certified as a Regional Referee is a great way to accomplish all three.  AYSO Region 390 will host a Basic Referee Training course on Saturday, August 30 from 8:30 till approximately 5pm at First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge.  After taking this course and passing the Basic Referee exam (given Saturday afternoon as part of the course), you will be certified as an AYSO Regional Referee.  (You will still need to take the AYSO Safe Haven training to be out on the fields with AYSO players, and youth referees must be at least 2 years older than a game's players to referee that game.)

To register for the course, visit eayso.org to register as an AYSO volunteer, and then follow the 'enroll for a course' link on the eayso home page.  The course roster number is 201403750.

There is no cost for the course.  The course is open to everyone 10 years of age or older.  A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Wear comfortable clothes and footwear appropriate for being out on the soccer field, because part of the course is taught out on the field.
